Having lived on the road and out of a suitcase for extended periods, this song naturally appeals to me. I can truly identify. And here’s a funny thing I’ve discovered on my travels, the notion of home seems to be very important to us all. Sometimes we’re out on the highway on our way home; other times we might be lost in life, hoping to find a place or a person to make us feel at home. Whichever the case, home's the place we're all headed, and Jeff Hodges is no different. He’s also going home, “cruising past all the warning signs, yellow lights and solid lines.” Clearly, this is a homecoming that’s long overdue, filled with hopes of forgiveness and redemption.

“Coming Home” is a powerful blues tune that hits all the right chords and notes at all the right intervals. It’s got some great singing, enhanced by a duet with Alyxandra, and some pretty outstanding guitar licks. Hodges is one of those bluesmen who’s been at this a long time. He's waited tables and slept in the backrooms of studios. He's suffered for his craft and earned his chops, and you can hear this in his music.

This track is a treat for any blues fan out there. Add I to your playlist immediately.
