Darren Holland Project's New Single ..."Hey" Coming Soon!!

WHO IS THE DHP?

The DHP hail from Grain Valley, MO, and consists of Darren Holland and Cheryl Holland, a husband and wife duo with Andy Oxman of Soundworks Recording studies as producer. Their music is an orgasmic pop sound. Each track will transcend you to a world of musical bliss and keep your feet tapping.

Darren lyrically writes about life, the good, the bad, and the ugly. He writes the story of everyone he knows and everyone he meets, and people that are gone in his life. Darren writes about t sex,  drugs, and the mental issues we all have at times. So his stories can be viewed differently by each person who listens and whom it touches.

Darren is the dark, while Cheryl is the light.
Cheryl sings and plays percussion, flute, and drums on some tracks. Her bold singing and attitude give The Darren Holland Project a different feel and give the songs the punch they need.

The single "Hey" will be released on September 1st, 2022. The song Hey is for a girl who made a choice, and I stood by her. It was her body, not her crime!

THE REVIEW..."HEY"

This track starts out with pounding drums that immediately gets you heart pumping and your head bobbin. Accompanied with the drum is bright sounding guitars picking out the melody to lead into the vocal's singing, "Hey, What can I say.." Transitioning into the chorus stating what the individual of this track is going though with their struggle. This is a track about really being a friend and standing up for a friend or loved one, and helping them get through their trying times. I really enjoyed the melody of this track with the guitars and vocals mixing together that give you an alternative rock feel. The drums well played, pound all through the track, truly outstanding!

In conclusion, I really loved the message of this track. A message of standing by a friend or a loved one in their time of need. A track about being someones rock, and literally helping someone through their pain. With the Darren Holland Project's message along with their totally heart pumping track mixed with the lead vocals, along side the beautifully sung background singer singing in unison, while the guitar's play roaring chords, gives you a feeling that every now and then we make choices that not all agree with, but when you think you are all alone, there is sometimes someone willing to reach out their hand, and stand by you against all odds.

Catching up With a Sci-Fi Legend

Claudia Christian Speaks to Minds

Claudia Ann Christian is an American actress, writer, singer, musician and director, known for her role as Commander Susan Ivanova on the science fiction television series Babylon 5. I managed to catch up with her.

My first question is, what would you most like to be remembered for?

Helping people across the street

We know most politicians were born in the fiery pit of hell as the spawn of Satan, but what's your opinion of the politics of the world today?

It's stupendously depressing

Can you tell us all about your past, present and future?

I was born in a circus tent in 1985….Oh you mean the truth? Don't you have IMDB or can't you go to claudiachristian.info?

You have a wonderful voice and you've actually done a lot of voice-over work. Can you tell us about this? What in, how hard was it, is there a special skill?

It's a very special skill and no one should ever try it (this will hopefully leave more jobs for me)

I know you've spent a lot of your time with aliens, but if you were an alien visiting planet earth, what would you do? Would turn around and go back? Or stay and try and help? Or maybe conquer?

Try and help with what? The dishes? World peace? Traffic problems? I would most likely get a really good burger and call it a day….

What has been your greatest achievement so far?

Not having children.

What has been mankind's greatest achievement?

Cotton buds.

If you had the chance to speak to every human being on earth, what would your message be?

Think before you open your pie-hole.

If your life depended on it, which Soap Opera would you do a cameo in?

I have never seen one in my life but I suppose General Hospital or Emmerdale (is that a soap?) those are the only names I know…Oh and 'All my Children'.

If a tree falls in a forest, and nobody is around to see or hear it, does it make a sound?

Hell yes, what are you daft?

Have you ever felt pressured by the fact that what you do in the public eye or when you're acting it may affect society? Have you ever wondered whether you were doing the right thing?

I am doing the right thing. I'm on a mission from God!

What advice would you give to actors today?

Give it up, the Kardashians are famous, enough said

Why do you think music and words seems to work so much better than just words as a means to get a message across?

Because people are mostly pretty dumb so they need a melody to follow

What kind of movies do you watch and why?

Sexy movies, do I need to explain why?

What are your opinions about the power of the internet?

It's pretty darned scary but it sure has made life easier. Then again I haven't seen nature or daylight in a decade so I guess it's not all good.

Do you think man is created in the image of God (or Goddess) or the other way around?

Women rule, we can give birth so we are the rulers of the world, get used to it. Men were created to provide the seed and mow the lawn

A recent scientific report stated that religion will eventually die out completely. What's your opinion on that? A good thing or a bad thing?

Good Lord…how would television evangelists survive? How would priests get their rocks off? People would have to take responsibility for their own actions and not blame it on "God"…now what kind of world would that be?

Is "free will" the whole of the law? Can man ever be truly free?

Not as long as he owes taxes and has a credit card

Do you back Nuclear Power? If not, why not.

I have no vested interest in it and I think they've done WAY too much "testing." A lot of cancer floating around the world…Wonder why…

Do you believe in Ghosts? UFO's (i.e. aliens visiting planet earth)? God?

Are those 3 things the same to you guys? Ghosts? I've seen one so yes, Aliens and UFO's …never seen one but I did see some crazy ass lights in the sky in Puerto Vallarta one night back in the 90's….God? Saw Him too…So yes.

Have you ever experienced altered states of consciousness? How, why and was it beneficial? And would you recommend it to all politicians, business and religious leaders?

I had a weird trip once on tequila and I could swear I could talk to trees. I think I ate the worm. It was pretty cool. I also took mushrooms accidentally when I was a teenager (they were in a milkshake a naughty boy gave me) and that was really freaky. Gargoyles came out of the walls and I ended up naked on the roof of the house not knowing why I was naked or how I got up there. I don't like drugs for all of the aforementioned experiences.

It was not beneficial except for opportunities like this where I can recount a silly drug story. As far as politicians experiencing altered states of consciousness - aren't all politicians aliens? So aren't they already in an altered state? Hello! Are you guys for real? Don't you know this already?

What's the craziest thing you've ever done?

This interview.

What would you still like to achieve?

Financial freedom, so I can bugger off and live on my private Island with a small but respectful and trustworthy staff to attend my every whim and need.

Would you ever record a duet with Justin Bieber?

Justin who? The kid with the ridiculous hair? Of course I would. It could lead to the aforementioned financial freedom. I ain't dumb ya know.

Do you believe in manmade global warming? Or is it natural?

It's all because of hair products, especially hair spray…that stuff has totally violated our ozone layer and I for one have boycotted it for ages!

The Review...

There is 10 outstanding tracks on "Everything About You". I will be reviewing the first 5 on the album 1-5 and in the conclusion I'll be reviewing the album in its whole entirety. Release date for this album is set for September 2nd 2022.

The first track that I will be reviewing is called, "Somebody To Love Me". This track starts out with brightly played guitars with  hi-hat's introducing the bass drum, rhythm guitar and piano leading into the intro's lead guitar beautifully played in unison with the melody. This song has a upbeat Pop Rock feel to it. The kinda track you can tap your toes to. Then, the background singers sings as if to introduce the main vocalist. At the bridge accompanied by the background singers, the lead singer sings "I need, somebody, somebody, somebody to love me yeah!" in a Pop Rock fashion. I enjoyed this track. I  really liked the bright guitar parts and the lyrics. I love the message of the track, tired of being alone feeling like you need someone to love you, like the track states. This track makes you feel like you want to get out there and find love.

The second track on this album is, "The Gift". This is the song that I reviewed back in May. This is what I had to say about the track... The track the I reviewed from The Petal Falls is called "The Gift". This track starts out with drums beating into electric rhythm guitars strumming beautifully played chords that sound so rich with a nicely played bass line. The track softens..The lead singer comes in singing "I Have A Gift, Especially For You". A beautifully sung part of the song. This is a type of track with a genuine 90's sound that takes you to that time. This is a track about wishing someone that you love dreams comes true...A track about true love for another human being. And about a love that can save another from whatever fears that they may have.

The third track I reviewed is, "The Sun In Her Eyes". The Track starts out with a piano playing with a subtle drum beat that reminds me of a 90's love ballad. The lead vocalist comes in singing "There was something in the way that she spoke". sung with a warm loving voice. Then the bridge, guitars come in with that classic 90's sound along with the lyrics similar to Journey. I really like this track. A track about falling in love, about being in love and all the emotions that comes with it. Another truly great love song by The Petal Falls.

The fourth track I reviewed is, "Nothing New". This track starts out with that classic 90's Pop Rock feel to it. Guitars roaring and drums beating that transitions to the lead vocalist, the track slows a bit. Instead of a love song this song is a break up song. The feel of this track is a lot like Journey where you can feel the sadness in the lyrics. This track has very nice chord structure to it and is played beautifully. This is a track that we all can relate to at least once in our lives.

The fifth track reviewed is, "Everything About You". This song starts out with incredible sounding synth style organ, truly amazing. Then transitioning into the guitars and vocalist singing about experiencing the natural wonder's like staying up till the sun comes up. This is a song about loving someone so much that you want to experience everything with that person. A song about loving everything about that person, hence the title of the track "Everything About You". Definitely a Pop Rock style track with guitar roaring and drums pumping. Oh, how I love the break of this song, beautifully done. synth organ, guitars, and drums play in unison with the vocalist as if they were suspended in time, just wow! What a fantastic track! This must be my favorite track by The Petal Falls.

In conclusion, "Everything About You" is a fantastic album about love and a bit about breakup's. An album about all that love has to offer. The Petal Falls sound is just incredible. They have that Pop Rock sound, that sound you hear when you listen to Journey. With roaring guitar's, bright sounding synth organ, to that classic Pop Rock drum beat, along with lyrics you can relate to.

The Review...

There are 15 brilliantly written tracks on Holy Warriors. I will be reviewing the first 5 tracks of this album 0-4, and giving a conclusion of the album as a whole.

Starting this review with Chakra 0 the first track of the album. But firstly what does Chakra 0 mean? Well, according to the book called "Clear The 13 Chakras In 7 Seconds", a book written by Haakon Rian Manchient Ueleand  himself  means "The Zero’th chakra is the Earth Star Chakra. It is our connection with the crystalline heart of  Mother Earth. When we speak of  “grounding”, we connect with our Earth House Mother". And that is the feeling that you get while listing to Chakra 0, a sort of connection with the earth, a connection with everything around you. You can feel the power moving through you. This track has a tribal dance feel while in the background there is a wolf  howl as the vocal chants "Warriors" as you close your eyes and listen to this track you get a feeling of strength and connection with all things around you.

The Next Track on the album is an magnificent song called Chakra 1. This track has a slow groove to it with an amazing drop. I really got into this track. this track had me dancing in my seat. With its smooth leads and rhythmic beats to rich harmony's that blends with the vocals. To guitar leads that dances with the rhythm of the track. I got a bit of a spiritual vibe to this track. A sort of closeness with a higher power. I must admit I really enjoyed listening to this track.

The next track, yep you guessed it! Chakra 2. This track starts out with a prayer or a mantra. A prayer to an Angle to let go of fear. as mAncient prays there is a kick drum playing in a tribal rhythmic dance fashion. this is a type of beat that gets the heart beating. This is a kind beat preparing you for a fight either a spiritual fight or perhaps a physical one.

The fourth track I reviewed was Chakra 3. This Track start out with a nice kick and snare beat kinda like a drum and bass style track accompanied with a harmonic flute playing a rich lead. The flute and organ together sound really nice and gets your head bobbin. You just set back and let the flute set the stage for the journey that this track is taking you on. The guitar leads you to the vocals singing prayers or a mantra that sounds truly magical, other worldly. Another really deep spiritually sounding track by mAncient. One that you can feel within.

And Finally, Chakra 4. This track starts of with a beautifully played piano along side chanting of a mantra. The drum part sounds crisp with a synth lead. The bass is full and you can feel it in your chest. The guitar part along with the synth is truly amazing. The change up of this track is also amazing and flows so nice with the harmony of the track, just brilliant! When I close my eyes and listen to Chakra 4 I get a sense of oneness.

In conclusion, Holly Warriors is an album of spirituality in my opinion. An album about having a connection with the earth, being closer to enlightenment. An album about searching within for oneness. An album about the power of being connected to everything that is around you from the air that you breath to the birds in the sky. Mancient has put into sound the beauty of oneness with Mother Earth and of Healing. Through his tribal dance beats to his magical flute that play along side a rich organ, he brings prayer to life through sound. His deep vocals can put you in a trance. This is an album you can feel in your soul.

The Review... 20-20 Vision!

20-20 Vision right off the bat is controversial. This is a music video not for the faint of heart. The track starts out with rich guitar's accompanied by a drum roll that leads into the vocal singing "20-20 Vision, I got 20-20 Vision" mean while in the background the visuals are flashing all the worlds disasters from tornadoes, wildfires, pollution to floods and wildlife becoming extinct. I absolutely love the groove of this track it has a funk feel to it. It is a track that is playful but extremely serious about the subject matter. According to Markus Facebook banned him from promoting their content after this upset someone.

Furthermore, I really appreciate the in your face approach that this music video is. People need to stop closing their eyes to what is really going on in our world and start to do something about it. 20-20 Vision is a music video exactly about that, doing something about it because we are running out of time. In my opinion this is an amazing music video that is straight to the point. A video everyone needs to see. The track 20-20 Vision is brilliantly done with rich guitar parts and funk style rhythm to lyric's that make you think " I should do something about the state of the world." This is a music video for all that live on planet earth.
