About the Darren Holland Project

The Darren Holland Project is just that, a project with many players involved. The main two are husband and wife Darren and Cheryl Holland from Grain Valley, MO. Darren writes all songs and plays guitar, keys, bass, vocals, and programs. Cheryl plays percussion, keys, drums on some songs, and vocals and flute. On some songs, Barb Wilmoth adds backup vocals and drums, Scott Mitchell on guitar, and JenCat on vocals. Andy Oxman of Sound Works Recording Studio produces and records most songs in Blues Springs, MO.

Darren has been influenced by all he listens to, from the new to the old and in-between. He writes several genres but mostly stays within rock. His songs are catchy but always have a meaning behind them.

The Review

This track starts out with guitars, bass and drums playing in unison as if they were dancing with one another. Next, a  Woo! to accent the rhythm bass and guitar. To imply something really cool is about to happen so, brace yourself. Then the lyrics come in singing, "We Know We Both Have Reasons with you, Hang On The Wings Have Seasons, Miss You, Ah Fools or Angels" This is a breakup song and those are some interesting lyric really get your mind peaking to see what comes next. The bridge is rather quite nice with a guitar solo and the vocalist sings along side the solo. The track gets more intense as it goes, and the couple in this situation relies that what they had is really over and its time to bring in the "War Machines".

In conclusion, this is a really good track about breakup. It keeps you interest to see what comes next with the couple in the situation. The guitars,bass and drums were played perfectly setting up the stage for the story line. All the vocalists sung like song birds along side one anther. Readers I really enjoyed this track. The Review - "Don't have A Minute"

This track starts off acoustic, just Willy, his guitar and his camera. Starting off this track with a delightful guitar riff the leads into Willy singing, "Focus, Don't get Distracted...." Willy has this unique way of playing his guitar and tapping his guitar for rhythm, really makes his style of playing similar to that of unplugged Eric Clapton style. Willy plays beautiful chords along with slides and harmonics in his tracks. He has a bright sound for his positive message in this track. Part of his lyrics is, "No Filter, Be true to who you are! Still Shine Bright Like Diamonds..." What a wise statement for everyone! This young man from New York is going to go places in his music journey. Singing tracks about love, being strong, and staying true to who you are.

The Review, "Obsession"

This track start off with, a swirling of guitars that is very pleasing to the ears. in the background there is a electric guitar playing a lead that sounds as if it is in the distance. What an outstanding sound from The Petal Falls!
In comes the vocalist singing, "I Dove off a Mountain, If I found you stop and stare..." That says a lot for what one feels for another.

This song is just what the title implies about being Obsessed with another and you would do anything to get their attention. The guitars are just outstanding. The percussion and bass play in unison to a beat that is seductive. The synth part at the bridge is just an amazing touch that complements the track.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed this track. It is the embodiment of an obsession. It is well played and well mastered. Readers, listen to this one it is very ear catching, you'll be humming it by the end of the day. This is a good track for those who are in love with someone so much they become their "Obsession".

The Review

There are twelve tracks on this album. I will be reviewing one off this album. and add an inculcation at the end of the review of the album in its entirety.

So lets get to the review readers!

I'll be reviewing the track, "Keep Us Free" this is the sixth song on his album.

This track starts out with beautiful guitar playing with a slight reverb sound that moves into violins and the vocals start! The rhythm is quite nice and subtle but noticeable. I love the message of struggle and the changes in power that rule over the land. The break is absolutely beautiful! This track is a beautiful rendition of all people wanting to be free from the rulers that be. And how the people pray for better days, free from struggles.

In conclusion, this track is a wonderful folk song. It describes a time where it was hard for people and a struggle to survive because of all the changes in power that rule over the land. It is a wonderful story, and I encourage readers to listen to this album and listen to the many stories being told about days of struggle. These tracks also relate to our world today. The struggles that we are now going through, day by day. Readers, again give it a listen and sit back and listen to the stories being told. You just might relate to it!

THE REVIEW, "WALK ON"

This track starts off with some grungy sounding guitars. The kind of guitars you would hear with the band Sneaker Pimps. This track has amazing atmosphere to it, with back ground talking slightly low, low enough that you know that it's  words. There is also some sort of shaker, or bells being played along side the low talking. all those elements mix together along side the guitars makes just this amazing atmospheric sound to the track. Very refreshing If you ask me. Nineteen seconds in and I am sucked in. Then there is this burst of synth sound, a wall of synths bright and edgy. I can't tell you enough how this band reminds me of the Sneaker Pimps. I'm sure when you listen to this single when released, you'll think to yourself the same. Then all a sudden there is a pause in the track, with a reverse vocals that sound so good that leads into the vocals. At the break the Vocalist sings, "Johnny in the back He self preserves on crack And he knows Yeah he knows Johnny in the back
He’s self preserved on crack" Lyrics by Tom Spiby. These are lyrics not for the faint of heart. All around with the bass and the percussion along side the lyrics and effects, this band is brilliant! This track had me taping my toes and bobbing my head to the beat.

In conclusion, I love the sound of the track, that it sound so close to the Sneaker Pimps that it took me back to them day's. I absolutely loved how everything in this track from the bass to the lyrics are in sync with the percussion. It give the track a sort of bobbing kind of bounce to the whole track. I really enjoyed Noasis track "Walk On" I like the fact that while listing to this track I find myself dancing in my seat! So, Readers give it a listen. Before you know it you'll also be dancing in your seat!

The Review, "Waiting for, ready for"

Oh my goodness! Readers this track is so beautiful! it starts out with these delightful synths playing this incredible melody. So impressive, brilliant! Instantly get you wrapped in the track from the start. The vocals are out of this world! Along side the absolute beautiful  melody, Asia Anglozzi comes in singing, "Stray Light, I'm Drawn To Everything". Oh my goodness the vocals are heavenly. Readers wait till you hear this! This is amazing! The drums are just as amazing as the vocals. The bass, drums and vocals playing along side a guitar are just perfect sounding. Truly a stunning track! exceptional. this track has an ambient feel to it but it absolutely rocks out at the break!

In conclusion, All I can say is "WOW!" This is a truly stunning track, I can't stress enough. It has all the elements that gets your heart pumping and it is real ear candy with all the vocal effects, breaks and instrumentation. Reader, I really can not stress enough how much I loved this track! I could listen to this in a loop and never get tired of their sound! Tony Keyes, a madman of all trades, has experience playing guitar, bass and singing
in various different groups and styles of music. Cooked and seasoned in
Blanchardstown, Tony manages to combine the styles of bass and guitar in harmony,
and in wrath, something he is proud to own.
His vocal, remnant of the grunge era, takes its own form, as Dublin accents are let
loose, screams are heard and the message is loud. Oftentimes unclear, Tony’s lyrics
take on metaphors and noun modification and slang, beckoning you to dig a little
deeper.

All The Rest
SWELTR’s second single.
Written and recorded By ‘Noel Dempsey’ and ‘Tony Keyes’ during the winter of 2022.
Recorded in February in Noel's shed, which has now been labelled "The SWELTR
Shed", SWELTR are not afraid to take the DIY approach to get the sound they want.
Following on from their first single “What's It Gonna Be?”, they are back to make a
statement with their next tune.

The song opens with, “Did you wake up on the wrong side of your head?” An
intrusive start to the song, getting right to the point. That something is not right and
needs to change. The verse expresses the reality of masking negative feelings.


The song speaks to a universal struggle that we all face, touching on subjects of
everyday life, but in an almost crude and unfiltered manner. Expression feelings of
one's exhaustion, latency and an overall jaded feeling towards life and the need to
mask it to cope. All the while maintaining a cheerful tone, with lyrics that carry some
weight to them. The second verse punches the listener with the line, "terrified of what
you might see". However, the blow is softened by Noel's backing vocals that really
make the final verse its own unique part of the song.

The Chorus, "I'm done with all the rest", is the reaction from the feelings that are
examined in the verses. An explosion of one's inner self, a rebel, of one's own
nature. Combined with melodic and true noise, to further the message.

A thumping yet, spacey outro section with fuzzy and unruly guitars backed by an
unstoppable drum beat.
Tony repeats the line "I'm done". Phasing in and out of different levels of aggression,
he again expresses the feelings shown in the chorus.

SWELTR have never and will never shy away from bringing the noise way above the
threshold, which Noel and Tony have done their best to demonstrate in the song's
final section.
A piece of organised chaos - They have managed to lighten the load of these lyrics,
with a catchy drum beat, spacey guitars and a relaxed, almost slacker style vocal
from Tony.
Their newest track is not something to be missed.

The Review, "All The Rest".

This Track starts out with an awesome feel wright off the the bat with a synth playing so smoothly along guitars picking introducing the melody. And that all in the first eight seconds. Wow what a sound! Then the drums and bass come in also smoothly then as the  guitar's change up. Vocals come in singing, "Did You Wake Up On The Wrong Side Of Your Head? Let's Clarify What You Need To Pretend." The Vocalist has a warm and inviting voice with some vocal effects that makes his sound, sound surreal. In-between the vocals there is a short drum break that just adds to the vibe of the track. At the Bridge a wall of guitars with a grungy crisp sound erupts! The drums are banging along side the vocals. What a unique sound this band has. I think with a bit of a Nirvana sound to this band. I love haw smooth there sound is. This is a kind of band you could listen to on road trips and never get tiered of them. Definitely put this track on repeat.

In conclusion, Totally love the song! I loved the smooth feel to it and the vocals are nice and clear even with the vocal effect. the drums are played outstandingly all through the track. It keeps you engaged with the track along side the bass. Oh, those guitars played so beautifully from begging to finish setting the vibe of the track along side the vocals that keep you hanging on to each word he sings. The Review

In the past I have done two review's on Willy, Falling Rain and Experiences. This review will be on his track Lifelong Journey (original). So lets get to it readers!

Lifelong Journey starts of with stunning guitar playing by Willy Kuo. This track like his others is totally unplugged. which I love hearing the raw sounds of just a guitar and the Vocalist. the guitar has a full but bright sound to it and Willy plays the rhythm on the flat top of the guitar strings like an old blues player would. This song is about just what the title states, life's journey. Willy begins singing, 'It's Just A Life's Long Journey Everyone Has, We Go Through in Their Lives'. Then Willy goes on sings about how that's what he keeps on telling himself To hold on to what he believes. I am sure we all have found ourselves saying that to ourselves once or twice in our life especially when time are hard. Then later he sings how there will be souvenirs that we gain along the way in life. What a true statement! at the break he sings 'Don't ever loose yourself' in rhythm of the guitar. Willy has such an inviting voice. He keeps you hanging on to the story line as it unfolds in front of you about this young persons life just beginning. We have all been there before! This track just has amazing guitar playing and a original lyrics with a story that keeps you wanting to know more.

In conclusion. What an outstanding musician Willy Kuo is at such a young age. His sound is original and his lyrics keep you wanting to hear more with his bright tones of his guitar and his inviting voice. So, readers check out Willy's YouTube video's. Other influences include Will Haven, Helmet, Devil Sold His Soul. There are also flashes of The Devil Wears Prada, Architects,
BMTH, Converge. As well as Bad Omens, Fit for a King, Loathe, Knocked Loose, and more ambient artists like Crosses.

The Review

The track I will be reviewing is the first track on this album. The name, 'Six One Hundred'. This Track starts off with a wall of grungy guitars with enormous sound! Sparking emotions right off the bat! I mean this is the first nine seconds of this track and I'm totally sucked in. Drums banging setting an intense feeling of controlled chaos as the vocalist is introduced! This track will definitely get you jumping out your seat and bobbin you head with your hands in the air! Talk about sure metal, this track is just that! The guitars are just amazing on this track. The vocalist sings, 'I Don't Remember The Nightmare's Because Of You' so intense! so energetic! But, with a hint of disaster in one's life. This is a outstandingly well played track and it definitely jars up some emotions within you. Readers if you are in to hard driving metal, guitars to the wall, drums that bang and lyrics that keep you hanging on to the story. Well this track is for you!

In conclusion, This is a truly stunning metal track. I love tracks that spark emotion, a track that  makes you think, 'I can relate to this' like this track does. The Marseille's E.P - 'FREEDOM EP'

About the Marseille's

Marseille are a young rock n roll band formed in late 2021 in Derby, England. The band consists of Will Brown, Joe Labram, Lennon Hall, Tom Spray and most recently Felix Moxey. The 90's Madchester scene and the 60's Merseybeat is where Marseille draw most their influences from.

 In 2022, Marseille had successes with the singles "Forget It All" which was played on Soccer Am and the 9 minute monster "The Jungle". Over that summer, the band also performed at the Y-Not and Isle Of Wight Festivals.

Already in 2023 the band have completed a successful 10 date UK Tour selling out venues and are continually building their fan base.

Track 1: 'Freedom' is trademark Marseille. A Fast tempo, high energy, in your face guitar driven anthem with euphoric guitar solos. The track starts with a brilliant drum intro, a thumping bassline and the roaring feedback of guitars and this sets the tone for the rest of the rock n roll anthem.

 ts a song written about the band’s hometown of Derby. The lyric portrays how there's not a lot going for it anymore. Once a city booming with life in the streets is now a dull, gloomy place which really needs something to liven it up again.

Track 2: “Only Just Begun” is a great call back to Marseille’s 60’s Mersey-beat inspired sound with hints of the 60’s psychedelia movement. With sweet sounding guitar riffs oozing with a bright sunny sound. It’s a song jam packed with glorious hooks and jangles and a great sing-along catchy chorus.

The song is written about a relationship that ended too soon and how something so full of potential can end before it even began.

 Track 3: “Thinker” is a heartfelt song accompanied by divine strings. It has a lyric that plays with your heart and killer hooks that cut deep in your soul. The song is reflective and full of emotion addressing the situation of lost loved ones and all the things you want to say to them now they’re gone.

Track 4: “Lost And Found” This track came from the same recording sessions and had previously been an early live favourite of the band’s fans. One of the first songs the band fully fleshed out together, this is a song with a lot of history and the band wanted to keep in touch with that raw, live sound.

Reveiw of the Marseillies's E.P 'Thinker'

This release of the Maseillies's E.p 'Thinker' is very energetic and just what they say about Freedom 'Brilliant drum intro, a thumping bassline and the roaring feedback of guitars and this sets the tone for the rest of the rock n roll anthem.'  The rest of the E.P is just amazing with drums hitting hard and walls of guitar in that rock n roll style. The vocalist has a warm and inviting voice that draws you into the story. This is just an all around outstanding band that has everything that you are looking for in a rock band. About the Darren Holland Project

The Darren Holland Project is just that, a project with many players involved. The main two are husband and wife Darren and Cheryl Holland from Grain Valley, MO. Darren writes all songs and plays guitar, keys, bass, vocals, and programs. Cheryl plays percussion, keys, drums on some songs, and vocals and flute. On some songs, Barb Wilmoth adds backup vocals and drums, Scott Mitchell on guitar, and JenCat on vocals. Andy Oxman of Sound Works Recording Studio produces and records most songs in Blues Springs, MO.

Darren has been influenced by all he listens to, from the new to the old and in-between. He writes several genres but mostly stays within rock. His songs are catchy but always have a meaning behind them.

The Review

Lemon Drop starts out with earth pounding drums played along side a guitar picking out 7 or 8 notes like an arpeggio. The sound is clear and very crisp. As they play in unison the vocals come in with outstanding sound a sound that the Darren Holland Project has that separates them from other bands in their genre. At the bridge they just let loose. the whole band just erupts with a wall of sound. The bass line in this track is phenomenal! I just love the percussion on this track. The drums just smack in a way that gets your heart pumping and your toes tapping. The guitars complement the sound with smooth picking of the notes that lead to the bridge the whole way though the track. Wow the guitar sounds as if its playing with at slide when playing the lead. This track is simple really out of this world good! Everything about this track is absolutely stunning.

In conclusion, This is one of my favorite bands to do reviews for. Every song that they present me is just knocked out the park good! Readers like I've said time and time before, check the Darren Holland Project band out they are truly an outstanding band. A band that I think every one that hears them will love and listen to their work over and over again. So, please give them a listen you will be in awe when you hear the talent of this wonderful band!

The Review

This track starts out like a heart beat the grows in to a powerful bass line  playing along snares rising to the vocals singing, " would you like it all to burn? And disappear.' A strait to the point question I think we all have to ask the powers that be. The vocalist goes on singing, I was half way to hell." as the vocalist unfolds the story, there is a  wall of drums and guitars playing in unison that makes your start to bob your head. This track has such a powerful sound mixed with electronic elements that compliments the emotion of how serious this band is about the situation of our would. An emotion that we all should have because it effect us all.

In conclusion, I absolutely love the sound of this track. How powerful they put out this message, that our earth is burning and the power that be are doing nothing in the name of money!  I share the same emotions about the state of our world today. Will the next generation be able to enjoy this beautiful planet, or would it be a waste land in the end.

This track makes you think about what is really going on, and how outraged you should be. pMad the band is trying to make a statement, make a difference. Please listen to 'Fire' when it is released on the 1st of May 2023. Wow is all I can say about this Band! "Senses Working Overtime" is a totally fantastic song!
The video on YouTube is well made and you feel as if you where there at their concert. Lets get to the review!

The Review

This song starts off with a powerful sound of guitars, drums and bass playing a melodic masterpiece, that leads into a guitar solo, talk about ear candy, wow this song is definitely that. In come the Vocalist singing, "Well I've Been Waiting For Such a Long, Long Time. Every Sense I Saw You I Could Not Get You Off, Off My Mind." With a very inviting voice. This is a love song about one person loving another at fist site, but the other did not love them back as the person that is in love with them does. This song has outstanding lyrics, lyrics that you can relate to. In my personal case, I have been there once or twice in my life. The lead guitarist playing his solo is truly impressive. With melodic notes that float around in your ears. The whole band is just amazing. You can find out yourself just click on the YouTube link above!

In conclusion, I thoroughly enjoyed this song. Hardland reminds me of Journey's vocals mixed with the 80's rock sound. Its just brilliant! The song takes me back to the days that where melodic rock was the sound of the time. Take my advice, give this video a listen! You will definitely be rocking out to this song. I know I was!

 Lets here what Pete from Postindustrial Poets has to say about Thousand Dollar Shoes! (Atrip Funky Version).

Thousand Dollar Shoes is a song about moving on - it is addressed to a former girlfriend, but the tone is uplifting. The music reflects this; it has a funky rhythm and an infectious beat. The vocals are novel and gripping. The song moves along on a tenor voice that is gritty and involving, but this is supported by a prominent baritone that joins on key phrases and accentuates the rhythm.

The lyrics tell a story in flashback and turn full circle. It begins and ends with the lines:

"If you saw me on the sidewalk, baby, on the street one day. Would you stop and make small talk with me? Or would you walk away?"

The Review

This track starts out with a kick slowly coming from the distance to in your face! It sounds like the heart beat of the track. The kick slowly introduces the synth that is playing a funky groove that makes your toes tap as the track begins. The kick and synth introduces the vocals. As stated above the track  starts out with, "If you saw me on the sidewalk, baby, on the street one day. Would you stop and make small talk with me? Or would you walk away?" I tell you readers this is an outstanding funk track. With all the electronic rhythms playing in unison. As the track progress's the vocalist's sing, "I seen your pictures in the paper, your wearing thousand dollar shoes", as the harmonica is introduced. This is an upbeat breakup song as the lyrics states " Your mad about the way we parted, I'm glad you got the things you wanted", sung along side a harmonica, how original this track is. It is refreshing to hear  a track that is so unique as this track!

In conclusion, This is an amazing track. With all the elements in this track just gets you going even though it is a breakup track. The story line keeps you hooked to hear what comes next. It is well sung by the vocalists. And not to mention the beat, it has such a great sound. What you would imagine a modern day funk track would have. I personally love the vibe of this track, and readers, I think you will too. Give it a listen and find out for yourselves. The Review..."Impala Road"

This track starts out with a rich sounding guitar and a drum that sound crisp off the top of the snare mixed with the snap of the kick. As the guitar and percussion play the bass follow as if it was a dance between the instruments that introduces the vocals...singing, "Running Down The Lonely Road, Running Down The Lonely Road, Running down the Lonely Road, Outlawed." I  love the way Wigz used a saxophone or some  sort of horn in his break!  it gives  the track a unique sound mixed with the guitar, bass and perception playing in unison. Very nicely done Wigz! I also love the use of the drums and the guitar to emphasis the  vocals towards the second break the pace of the song slows down ever so slightly while Wigz sings in some vocal effects that are total amazing. The car effects in the distant is a really nice touch to this track towards the end of this track along side  well done vocal effects.

In conclusion, This is a all-around outstanding track. It is Packed with a great story line about a person that has been run for some time and is back on the lonely road again, outlawed. Thinking about what he has left behind. if you like great story's that tell about a life  of the one this track is about than this is for you. This track is packed with sound effects that back the story up which puts you in the drivers seat.

The Review, E.M.A "Project 128"

If you like ground pounding electronic music, this is so for you! Where do I start? Oh my goodness this album had me seriously dancing in my seat as I listened. This whole album is nothing short of outstanding! With sounds of lushes Synths, absolute ground pounding bass in your face to amazingly played piano that sound so rich. From start to finish this album is electrifying to your senses. E.M.A has outdone themselves with this album, for sure! From Bufinjer's "Move it Like This" amazing bass line, to Cylotron's "Don't Stop" earth moving kick and bass. Not to mention Daveyhub's "Those Fantazia Feelings" beautiful piano playing and house beat. Next to Dinksterizaangel's  "Loca" amazing vocals and flow.

Following Dinksterizaangel is DZM's "Dance till I am happy again"  awesomely done side- changing and fantastic dreamy synths. Next up is, Electrostatic Nightmare Disco's "Vampire" another ground pounding kick that will rumble your speakers! This one is one for the ravers out there! To The next Erik Njolstad's "Warp  Drive" so ambient with out of this world synths!are absolutely beautiful! To an amazing explosion of sounds that made my arm hair raise!  

Next track is Hootgun's "HighSoTonic" Intense intro to the bass line that will have you taping you toes and get your head seriously bobbin. Following Hootgun is iconDARK's "Encounter 9 of 128" Wow is all I can say! The synths are amazing all the way to the bass line! not to mention the percussion of this track is phenomenal! 

Next up, is mAncient's "Earth House Blast" OMG! what a track! packed full of vocals. I can't put into words how absolutely awesome his synths are! well done brother! Next up is, Mechanical Flesh's "Flight Shift" with such beautiful arp's along side a wonderful bass line. The synths sound as if they were dancing with one another. Following mAncient is, One Devious Monkey's "People In The House (Fat As Funk is who mastered it). I just love his house beat that is pounding from the intro to the end! Another fantastic sounding synths playing in unison. The lead synth in this track is awe inspiring! Nice work One Devious Monkey!

Next up is Planet Robot's "No Faith" what an incredible bass line along side lush synths, love the change up on this track intense synths with a wobble. This Track is amazing with all the different elements in the track that seem to flow like this track is telling you a story! truly amazing! And for  the final track on this album is no other than Primaudia's "Castlemorton" loving that bass line again, its just pumping! with outstanding percussion along side beautifully done vocal chops. This track will get your heart pumping and your head bobbin! what a wonderful change up! synths are just crisp and intense! anther outstanding track!

In conclusion, This album had me just dance the whole way through. this is an amazing album with amazing artists with outstanding talent! Readers, if you want to jam out or work out this is an album that will get you there. Packed  with synths and bass lines that will get your heart pounding to the kicks that will knock you off your seat. This album has everything you are looking for if your into electronic music. You won't be let down.

Gary Dranow & the Manic Emotions is a Park City, Utah-based classic rock band making music for the square pegs. After creating successful business endeavors in the world of outdoor sports, bandleader Gary Dranow turned to music to help him cope with bipolar disorder and the effects of a stroke. The result is a genre-defying collection of songs that provide comfort to those who are also walking a difficult path.

After several successful releases from their debut album, Destiny Road, they are finally ready to release the much anticipated collection. But for Gary Dranow, the band’s leader and songwriter, there is no other song that’s more personal than “Mellow Drama".

About Gary

This classic rock-influenced single has whispers of blues elements reminiscent of the rock of the 80’s. The playfulness of the keyboard sprinkled throughout the single adds texture to Gary’s skilled guitar.

He wrote “Mellow Drama” in the third person, from the point of view of those he’s been in relationships with, both platonic and romantic. As someone with Bipolar with mania, he explored what it must have been like for others to be around him.

“When I was in my late 40s I was diagnosed as bipolar with mania and for the first time, I had a reference for why I acted out as I did from early childhood until I started to be managed pharmacologically. I blew up three marriages and many relationships due to my over-the-top personality,” says Gary.

“It wasn't until I moved to Park City and a Ski Racing buddy of mine, referred me to his psychiatrist, Dr. Kalm (really his name, no joke) that I was put on the right combination of meds and I mellowed out tremendously. Before that I was hyper-aggressive and often people would be put off by my demeanor. That all changed under the care of Dr. Kalm. Now I'm as calm as a lake without wind, very stable, andnow a genuinely nice, caring person.”

Gary's struggles with manic depression have fueled his creativity and inspired him to make music that speaks to the human experience. To have your personal and professional life disrupted by your sensitivity to others around you, it sets you back every time you think you have made a step forward. That is where a lot of Gary's lyrical inspiration comes from in his original tunes.

The Review... "Mellow Drama"

This starts out with that with that iconic sound of the 80's. Guitars strumming along side a guitar lead, bass and the organ, with that classic 80's beat. Anybody from that time will enjoy this. I know I did! As the band  plays they introduce  the vocalist singing, "You think It's easy Being your friend, You think it's easy Telling you things you don't want to hear, I've had a rough time with you, Its not easy being your friends, Tell me what you want me to do." In a very inviting voice with very deep lyrics. The kinda lyric's that hit home. Song writer Gary Dramow writes an amazing track about his struggles in life. As you read above he suffers from Bipolar disorder and a stroke. Hats off to you Gary Dranow for writing such a outstanding track.

In conclusion, readers if you love the 80's style tracks. Well this  is a winner! With deep lyrics and a great sounding band that will take you back to the past with that classic 80's sound. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this band, and I think you will to!

The Review, 'Stars At Night'

This is really beautiful track very soft warm feeling track. it's got the feel's similar to  Bryan Adams meets U2. A very warm tone to the track. The track starts out with a guitar strumming along side the percussion and bass that introduces Franc O'cher singing, 'Here I am, Thinking about you...' This is a song about love. A kinda love that you may feel for an 'X' or someone that don't know that this person is in love with them. The guitar is well played and the percussion and bass is the heart beat of the track. I think this is a charming song, a song of endearment of a love for one to another. A kinda song you can sit down with the one you love and enjoy the story of this track.

Perfectly aligning with International Women’s Day, Venezuelan London-based multi-hyphenate Pao Pestana has just revealed ‘NMIGO’, her high-energy new single out today via Big Indie Records. Alongside the single release, Pao also announces the release date for her debut EP No Apagues La Luna, due out 12th April.

No Apagues La Luna is a phrase that Pao used to say at 3 years old to her father when he went to turn her light off before bed: “don’t turn off the moon”. It’s that age of discovery where children play around with the meaning of words, exploring and creating the world around them in ways that spark intrigue. Through the EP, Pao is reconnecting to her inner child, letting herself be playful and free, tapping into that same curiosity that she explored as a child. Created with no expectations and no pressure, Pao illuminates her identity and true being on No Apagues La Luna.

 ‘NMIGO’ (a play on the Spanish word ‘enemigo’ meaning ‘enemy’) was written as an ode to the power of women and their determination to overcome any hurdles or doubt that comes their way. It was made on the same day as a business situation with a man that led to Pao being deceived. The result is a cathartic release of energy that is simultaneously empowering, motivating and exciting. It’s a strong example of how art and creativity can flourish in the face of adversity, as Pao left the session with her producer “feeling like Superwoman.”

The record introduces itself with ominous bass-led synth pulses and an overpowering Latin percussive rhythm underpinned by Pao Pestana’s haunting vocal, which quickly fills out with thick basslines. The track builds tension throughout, before climaxing with thundering drums and a layered chorus rich with expressive backing vocals. Not only is the track a perfect cocktail of Western and Latin production styles, Pao Pestana continuously switches between Spanish and English throughout the song, once again highlighting both her Venezuelan roots and her London-based style.

Speaking on the single, Pao shares, “It’s a badass ‘don’t f*ck with me’ song. Sometimes we need that energy, especially women. I had this as a clear intention when writing NMIGO. I envisioned all the incredible women in my life that I admire, and how hard they work on developing their talents and the knowledge they hold. We continuously get underestimated by some man which becomes fuel for us. I want this song to be a companion to the powerful women that are following their call no matter the adversities. We are powerful.”
The release of ‘NMIGO’ follows Pao’s alluring February release ‘San Menace’ which was accompanied by a slick visual that was creative directed by Pao herself, and directed by Anna Francesca-Jennings.

Consistently shifting perceptions of Latinx pop music, Pao Pestana’s innate curiosity and hunger for experimentation allows her sound to mutate into something truly unique, pulling inspiration from her new home in London as well as her birthplace in Venezuela. Her career so far has already been littered with highlights, including two sold out shows in 2021, as well as performances in major London venues including Jazz Café & Rich Mix London. With support from key tastemakers such as Rinse FM, Earmilk and BBC Introducing, she has an extremely exciting 2023 ahead, with many more genre-bending hits to follow.

Hailing from a family of artists, Pao Pestana fell in love with theatre at an early age, exploring acting and dance as a way to indulge her creativity. Growing up in a home filled with music, she gravitated towards singing, later learning to bring her visions to life with production.  The Review.. ' NMIGO'

This track is very original, and electrifying. Right out the gate I was dancing in my seat. Pao Pestana has a inviting voice that keep you interested even though the track is mostly in Spanish. The track starts off with this incredible bass synth, that I found to be outstanding along with  background  vocals and percussion. Then the track pauses for about a second. After the pause  Pao Pestana  vocals comes in, in Spanish in a Reggaetón  fashion. At the break Pao sings, 'I Can Be Sweet, Can Also Eat You For Din-nah..'. This Track is just incredible the tribal  feel of the Reggaetón with drums pounding just gets you moving in your seat. If you like to dance well, this track is for you. I personally loved it! I loved the fact that even though she is singing in Spanish there is English mix in the track. You pretty much understand what she is singing about. Give this track a listen too readers. You'll be dancing in your seat also.

New Song by The Darren Holland Project-'Picking Sides'

The Darren Holland Project is just that, a project with many players involved. The main two are husband and wife Darren and Cheryl Holland from Grain Valley, MO. Darren writes all songs and plays guitar, keys, bass, vocals, and programs. Cheryl plays percussion, keys, drums on some songs, and vocals and flute. On some songs, Barb Wilmoth adds backup vocals and drums, Scott Mitchell on guitar, and JenCat on vocals. Andy Oxman of Sound Works Recording Studio produces and records most songs in Blues Springs, MO.

Darren has been influenced by all he listens to, from the new to the old and in-between. He writes several genres but mostly stays within rock. His songs are catchy but always have a meaning behind them.

The Review, 'Picking Sides'

This is an outstanding group of indie musicians that I've had the pleasure to write a review for in the past couple months. So I am happy to here there new single, 'Picking Sides' Lets get to it!

This track starts out with banging drums and a guitar picking out a melody following this a wall of guitars are heard. And that just 12 seconds into the track! then the lyrics come in singing, ' Come On Baby, Come On Into play, We Can Drown On Such A Sun Shiny Day' Wow those are intense lyrics! As distorted guitars play along side the lyrics. The bass and drums are just pounding. This group has such a intense  but, impressive sound. This is a very outstanding indie rock group. The lyrics are gripping  as you listen the story unfold. If you are into indies rock this is a fantastic group to listen to. I know I have already listened to they work more than twice. You won't be let down by the hardcore sound of this group.

In conclusion, 'Picking Sides' is a brilliant track. Chalked up with pounding drum and bass. And  lyrics that has you gripping at your seat. Like I said above you readers will not be let down by the enormous sound of this Indie band. Give them a listen and find out for yourself.
