In creating the album, the band were inspired by several bands old and new. There’s a clear and obvious love for Deftones.
Other influences include Will Haven, Helmet, Devil Sold His Soul. There are also flashes of The Devil Wears Prada, Architects,
BMTH, Converge. As well as Bad Omens, Fit for a King, Loathe, Knocked Loose, and more ambient artists like Crosses.

The band state:

“Melodic metal, with an ambient, ethereal, atmospheric edge. Our self-titled album experiments with a range of instruments
including strings, keys, synths to create a layered, textured sound threads through its centre. The album takes the listener on  an emotional journey…

...The angst-driven lyrics are inspired a lot by the work our frontman Jonny did in safeguarding and addiction, supporting struggling families and people suffering abuse, neglect and trauma.”

Other songs on the record about the fears associated with parenthood, and harm coming to our most precious loved ones. The agony of loss, and social anxieties are also explored. Motions’ songs are an attempt to make sense of the human condition. The album is a cathartic outpouring of emotion, an exploration of anguish.

In support of the album motions have partnered with Press on Vinyl and Fairsound Music to release a limited edition run of blood-red vinyl. They need to reach 70-pre orders in 30 days to achieve this. Anyone who pre-orders the vinyl will get 20% off the next HVE NO RGRTS clothing purchase https://fairsound.com/product/m-o-t-i-o-n-s-m-o-t-i-o-n-s/?fbclid=PAAaakdYzmYWiK7Z_ahNRpk9FUx_V7h287y4xfyT9u2zpeoJyNJbRt8ytVXxs

The Review

The track I will be reviewing is the first track on this album. The name, 'Six One Hundred'. This Track starts off with a wall of grungy guitars with enormous sound! Sparking emotions right off the bat! I mean this is the first nine seconds of this track and I'm totally sucked in. Drums banging setting an intense feeling of controlled chaos as the vocalist is introduced! This track will definitely get you jumping out your seat and bobbin you head with your hands in the air! Talk about sure metal, this track is just that! The guitars are just amazing on this track. The vocalist sings, 'I Don't Remember The Nightmare's Because Of You' so intense! so energetic! But, with a hint of disaster in one's life. This is a outstandingly well played track and it definitely jars up some emotions within you. Readers if you are in to hard driving metal, guitars to the wall, drums that bang and lyrics that keep you hanging on to the story. Well this track is for you!

In conclusion, This is a truly stunning metal track. I love tracks that spark emotion, a track that  makes you think, 'I can relate to this' like this track does. What a well played track by the Motions. Readers give this album by the Motions a listen I am sure you will be going on an emotional ride with this one!
