The Review

There are twelve tracks on this album. I will be reviewing one off this album. and add an inculcation at the end of the review of the album in its entirety.

So lets get to the review readers!

I'll be reviewing the track, "Keep Us Free" this is the sixth song on his album.

This track starts out with beautiful guitar playing with a slight reverb sound that moves into violins and the vocals start! The rhythm is quite nice and subtle but noticeable. I love the message of struggle and the changes in power that rule over the land. The break is absolutely beautiful! This track is a beautiful rendition of all people wanting to be free from the rulers that be. And how the people pray for better days, free from struggles.

In conclusion, this track is a wonderful folk song. It describes a time where it was hard for people and a struggle to survive because of all the changes in power that rule over the land. It is a wonderful story, and I encourage readers to listen to this album and listen to the many stories being told about days of struggle. These tracks also relate to our world today. The struggles that we are now going through, day by day. Readers, again give it a listen and sit back and listen to the stories being told. You just might relate to it!

PRESS RELEASE AND REVIEW SWELTR'S SECOND SINGLE, "ALL THE REST"...

About SWELTR

Formed in the blistering heat of 2022, SWELTR are a band hailing from north and
north-west Dublin. Taking inspiration from what they experienced as children, teens,
and now somewhat adults, SWELTR are not afraid to embrace who they truly are.
Shaped by the sites and sounds around them, SWELTR are inspired by even the
most outlandish thoughts and ideas, anything is food for thought to these guys.

Former members of the Dublin Post-Punk scene, Noel and Tony are back with a new
and fresh understanding and take on the Punk sound, while maintaining the same
gut wrenching energy and thump they carried in their previous project.

Noel Dempsey, one of Dublin's finest musicians, self-taught, this man will hit the
skins so hard your ancestry will bop their heads. Finglas born and bred, Noel takes
inspiration from the likes of Nirvana, Joy Division, QOTSA and many, many more.
A perfectionist in his own right, Noel will blow you away with some of the tightest and
beefiest grooves he has to offer. This man is a machine you simply cannot turn off.

Tony Keyes, a madman of all trades, has experience playing guitar, bass and singing
in various different groups and styles of music. Cooked and seasoned in
Blanchardstown, Tony manages to combine the styles of bass and guitar in harmony,
and in wrath, something he is proud to own.
His vocal, remnant of the grunge era, takes its own form, as Dublin accents are let
loose, screams are heard and the message is loud. Oftentimes unclear, Tony’s lyrics
take on metaphors and noun modification and slang, beckoning you to dig a little
deeper.

Press-Release

All The Rest
SWELTR’s second single.
Written and recorded By ‘Noel Dempsey’ and ‘Tony Keyes’ during the winter of 2022.
Recorded in February in Noel's shed, which has now been labelled "The SWELTR
Shed", SWELTR are not afraid to take the DIY approach to get the sound they want.
Following on from their first single “What's It Gonna Be?”, they are back to make a
statement with their next tune.

The song opens with, “Did you wake up on the wrong side of your head?” An
intrusive start to the song, getting right to the point. That something is not right and
needs to change. The verse expresses the reality of masking negative feelings.

The song speaks to a universal struggle that we all face, touching on subjects of
everyday life, but in an almost crude and unfiltered manner. Expression feelings of
one's exhaustion, latency and an overall jaded feeling towards life and the need to
mask it to cope. All the while maintaining a cheerful tone, with lyrics that carry some
weight to them. The second verse punches the listener with the line, "terrified of what
you might see". However, the blow is softened by Noel's backing vocals that really
make the final verse its own unique part of the song.

The Chorus, "I'm done with all the rest", is the reaction from the feelings that are
examined in the verses. An explosion of one's inner self, a rebel, of one's own
nature. Combined with melodic and true noise, to further the message.

A thumping yet, spacey outro section with fuzzy and unruly guitars backed by an
unstoppable drum beat.
Tony repeats the line "I'm done". Phasing in and out of different levels of aggression,
he again expresses the feelings shown in the chorus.

SWELTR have never and will never shy away from bringing the noise way above the
threshold, which Noel and Tony have done their best to demonstrate in the song's
final section.
A piece of organised chaos - They have managed to lighten the load of these lyrics,
with a catchy drum beat, spacey guitars and a relaxed, almost slacker style vocal
from Tony.
Their newest track is not something to be missed.

The Review, "All The Rest".

This Track starts out with an awesome feel wright off the the bat with a synth playing so smoothly along guitars picking introducing the melody. And that all in the first eight seconds. Wow what a sound! Then the drums and bass come in also smoothly then as the  guitar's change up. Vocals come in singing, "Did You Wake Up On The Wrong Side Of Your Head? Let's Clarify What You Need To Pretend." The Vocalist has a warm and inviting voice with some vocal effects that makes his sound, sound surreal. In-between the vocals there is a short drum break that just adds to the vibe of the track. At the Bridge a wall of guitars with a grungy crisp sound erupts! The drums are banging along side the vocals. What a unique sound this band has. I think with a bit of a Nirvana sound to this band. I love haw smooth there sound is. This is a kind of band you could listen to on road trips and never get tiered of them. Definitely put this track on repeat.

In conclusion, Totally love the song! I loved the smooth feel to it and the vocals are nice and clear even with the vocal effect. the drums are played outstandingly all through the track. It keeps you engaged with the track along side the bass. Oh, those guitars played so beautifully from begging to finish setting the vibe of the track along side the vocals that keep you hanging on to each word he sings. Readers, please check out SWELTR'S new track, "All The Rest". It is an outstanding track and you will love it too.

New Postindustrial Poets EP called "Orbiting the Sun". Release date is 3 May 2023.

All about the Postindustrial Poets!

Postindustrial Poets are the vehicle for the songs of Pete Poet - a Brit living in Luxembourg. They started recording in 2019, released their first track in 2020 (it did well in the Cooltop20), and didn't get on stage until 2021 (when COVID relaxed its grip). Postindustrial Poets have charted in streaming charts around the world, with more than a million streams on Spotify.

Their sound is alternative rock - but they have released songs in a range of styles.

Words matter to the Poets - and their songs often tell stories.

The new EP is called  "Orbiting the Sun". Release date is 3 May 2023. There is a pre-save link:
https://show.co/P3Zy0Yn
And a pre-release video clip https://youtu.be/q-ltlwjkUTQ

Pre-release video is also at the bottom of this article. Make sure to, like, leave a comment, and subscribe!

What's on the EP? It is a four-track EP. The lead track is called Living in Space, the second track is an instrumental called The Million Year Orbit (it actually lasts three minutes), and there is also a remix and live version of a single from a couple of years ago Record of the Week.

 What's the lead song about?

Living in Space is about wanting to withdraw from society - the hikikomori move. And it is specifically about Syd Barrett - who turned his back on fame and lived a reclusive existence in Cambridge after he left Pink Floyd. But it also has fun with some of the typical themes of sci-fi movies - being kept in suspended animation and falling in love with aliens. There is also a reference to Dan Dare...

When was it written?

In February of this year - on a bus in Norwich. Specifically, the bus from the University of East Anglia to the Park and Ride car park. The first line ("they could extract my consciousness") just appeared. By the time Pete got off the bus, he had all the lyrics sketched out.

And the music?

There is an influence from Syd Barrett's guitar work on the track - his use of glissando for example. But also from more recent electronic music. It is really a guitar and bass track though - louder than our recent releases!

The other tracks?

The Million Year Orbit refers to a line in Living in Space - and is designed to provide an extended version of the track if you play them together. We did this on That's When You Blew My Mind - and it seemed to work.

We chose to include Record of the Week on the EP because it is the other track where we hear a Syd Barrett influence (okay - no one else has ever mentioned it, but we know it is there).

What's next?

We have a series of tracks that we are looking forward to releasing. We are trying to work out the best order for doing this. The ideal would be to put them on a CD, but the practical obstacles are slowing things down.

We have some purely acoustic tracks recorded, and they will probably be next to be released.

PRESS RELEASE: Abrasive Trees EPOCHA Album Release + Launch Gig At The Black Heart, Camden

Introducing Abrasive Trees

Post-Punk/Post-Rock crossover band Abrasive Trees have announced a CD-only release of their compilation album EPOCHA.

The new collection features 9 tracks all written and recorded by Matthew Rochford between 2019 and 2021, and mixed by Rothko's Mark Beazley.  Rochford, a member of Bella Union's recently announced collective Silver Moth created much of the music in isolation working closely with Beazley to finalise each track and enlisting an array of musicians to guest.  Jo Beth Young, Peter Yates, Steven Hill, Laurence Collyer, and Roberts are among those who appear. Beazley added bass to tracks such as Before and Replenishing Water, which features celebrated drummer and Rochford's younger brother Sebastian.

The band have also announced their Saturday 4th March show with This Is Radio Silence at The Black Heart in Camden will be a launch gig for the album.

Matthew Rochford said:

"This work marks a particular phase of creativity, borne from a unique set of adverse (yet special) conditions.  I was fortunate to work with Mark Beazley on these tracks with additional support from Jo Beth - which was invaluable. After these were made things definitely changed as we moved into more of a traditional band set-up.  It's a chapter that I think is worth celebrating and one that I will always be hugely grateful for. The live show in London will showcase some of our favourite tracks plus some newer material too.  We can't wait."

The album is available for pre-order now and starts shipping on Friday 10th March, with the launch gig at The Black Heart, Camden on Saturday 4th March (supporting This Is Radio Silence).

The Review...'We Rise'

I reviewed one track off of the 'EPOCHA album', 'We Rise'. First of all this is an amazing track, it is so ambient. Guitar's slightly at first, the a distorted guitar comes in  with such feeling  and by the way  the percussive is amazing! this is an brilliant track with so much feel to it.  the vocalist sings don't give up. surrounded with the wall of sound and textures. The drums are exceptional along with the guitars creating a surreal landscape. what a beautiful track. This whole album is just amazing from one song to the next.

In conclusion, I really love this band. it give me a sense of escaping into a ambient soundscape filled with emotion. This is a innovated band with a sound that is out of this world. Give them a listen, I'm sure you readers will love their wok as I do.

The Marseille's has a single coming 01/20/23 .... "Only Just Begun"

 Meet the Marseille's...

Marseille are a young rock n roll band formed in late 2021 in Derby, England. The band consists of Will Brown, Joe Labram, Lennon Hall, Tom Spray and most recently Felix Moxey. Signed to Birmingham based label ADR Records, the 90's Madchester scene and the 60's Merseybeat is where Marseille draw most their influences from.

In 2022 Marseille, have already had some success with the singles "Forget It All" which was played on Soccer Am and the 9 minute monster "The Jungle". Over the summer, the band have also performed at the Y-Not and Isle Of Wight Festivals.

With an average age of 18, Marseille are sure to go far…

About, "Only Just Begun"...

The single will drop on the 20th of January 2023 across all major streaming platforms.

The new single “Only Just Begun” is a great call back to Marseille’s 60’s Mersey-beat inspired sound with hints of the 60’s psychedelia movement. With sweet sounding guitar riffs oozing with a bright sunny sound taking you to a sunny day. A song jam packed with glorious hooks and jangles and a great sing-along catchy chorus.

Marseille lead singer and songwriter, Will Brown, had this to say about the song:

“The song is written about a relationship that ended too soon which I’m sure is something a lot of people have experienced. Something full of potential just ends for a silly reason. This song just reflects that and tells a story of feelings and what happened over the course of that time”

The Review..."Only Just Begun"

You readers are in for a treat! The Marseille track "Only Just Begun" is a delightful track. The track starts out with a cloud of guitars that sound as if they were dancing with the bass line. The bass line is incredible in this track. The Vocalist has a voice that is easy on your ears. The drums complement the guitar's and bass. This track has a soft feel to it, very inviting. The end of the track there are some vocal effects that sound fantastic.

In conclusion, The Marseille's track "Only Just Begun" is the kind of track you can sit down and relax and just listen to the melody and drift away in this track. This is a must listen to Band. You won't be let down to what you hear.
