The Review...

Upon listening to Helen's song "Firefly" I noticed a catchy beat that sets the mood of this song of joyful anticipation of being with a person that you love dearly. A song that you can feel the love for another through the lyrics. The rhythm is firstly accompanied by up beat guitars playing in unison with the drums that gets your toes tapping and head bobbin. Followed by the wonderful voice of  Helen setting the stage for the story of a person falling in love. The message that I got from this song is how love grows overtime, a song about falling in love. A song that describes all the emotions that one goes though in the process of falling in love. The feeling of wanting this person to love you and how safe you feel just being with them.

In conclusion, I really enjoy this song. I loved the story that Helen is telling you. This is a song that you could relate to with your own experiences in life that you have had on your journey to find love. I felt that I was apart of the story experiencing this person's different emotions of falling in love as I listened. This is a song that you can feel the emotions that Helen is telling you in the lyrics. This song is a song from the heart.

Another chart stopper called, "You're Not There" that he performed in 2021 with legend Jeff Christie peaked at #1 on the South Africa iTunes chart! "You're Not There" is a brilliant song about loss, coming to terms with loss and all the questions you have while grieving. Lorenzo wrote this song after experiencing the death of his mother. Lorenzo wanted Jeff Christie to sing on this track because from the beginning the legend has been with Lorenzo with his hit song, " Yellow River". You're Not There is a tribute to his mother celebrating the life he shared with his mother.

When I asked Lorenzo, "What is the meaning behind, "I Guess I Am The Only One?",
this is what he had to say....

Even with its bright melody and catchy refrain, the song carries a very deep message. It's an accusation to the way people live life, today, kingdom of egotism, taking care more of the concrete things such as money, nice cars...And nobody anymore seems to be interested in what really matters in life: LOVE. It's also the aching accusation towards the way society seems to exclude diversity instead of welcoming it. They see it as a danger, not as a richness. You hear the words:

They believe in money but I believe in love

I see them working hard – they save up to buy that car

To brag about with their friends

They don’t like my hair so they just look away

They hate to look me in the eye, no matter what I do

They’ll never trust me enough

So, there's no chance. Who's different is destined to be refused and left alone, but here it comes the positive side of the song in the refrain:

And I’ll never fool myself

Being someone that I’m not

To please you

I guess I am the only one

Which means: even if they refuse you, even if they leave you alone, don't change who you are, be just who you are, because if you would accept to change your nature, you would be fooling the only person which you must not fool: yourself. This is a great message for all the ones who could be enclosed on the word "Diversity". And you know what I mean.

Listing to this track I feel the message of just being yourself don't change to please another for any reason. I love the sound of the guitars that accent the vocalist. The Melody takes you to a place that gives you a feeling of loving oneself. Loving yourself for who you are. This song takes you on a journey within to search for who you really are and what you believe in.

In conclusion, Lorenzo Gabanizza could not have said it any better. The world does frown down at diversity. But diversity does not have to be a bad thing. diversity is what makes us different from one another, unique. Diversity also helps us grow a sort of learning tool for life, it makes us better human beings.
